1.Carbon Steel Plate Description
ASTM 36 is an American standard carbon structural board. Its implementation standard is ASTM A36/A36M-03a. This standard applies to riveting, bolting and welding structures for bridges and buildings, as well as structural steel quality carbon steel sections, steel plates and steel bars for general purposes. The yield strength of the A36 steel plate is not less than 355 N/mm^2, and the tensile strength is 490 to 620 N/mm^2.
A36 steel plate is divided into two specifications: thin plate and thick plate. The steel sheet is a steel sheet having a thickness of between 0.2 and 4 mm produced by a hot rolling or cold rolling method. The width of the steel sheet is between 500 and 1400 mm. According to different applications, the steel sheets are rolled from different material billets. The width of the thick steel plate is from 0.6 mm to 3.0 mm. According to the application, the thick plates are divided into shipbuilding steel plates, bridge steel plates, boiler steel plates, high-pressure vessel steel plates, pattern steel plates, automobile steel plates, armor steel plates and composite steel plates.

(1) High strength: Generally, the yield strength is 300 MPa or more.
(2) High toughness: The required elongation is 15% to 20%, and the room temperature impact toughness is more than 600 kJ/m to 800 kJ/m. For large welded components, higher fracture toughness is also required.
(3) Good weldability and cold forming properties.
(4) Low cold-brittle transition temperature.
(5) Good corrosion resistance.
Mainly used in the manufacture of bridges, ships, vehicles, boilers, high-pressure vessels, oil and gas pipelines, large steel structures.
